In order for management to be justified in their instructions to have carriers submit medical certification, a carrier must first have applied for annual leave and then call in sick on that day, or a carrier must be given an undesirable task and then the carrier falls out sick, or their must be an obvious pattern of sick leave. Absent the above, management should not be demanding evidence for sick calls. Resolved; The Grievant will be paid mileage to and from the physician's office and will be paid for the co-pay ($7.50).
