Union meeting minutes for January 3, 2007
Meeting called to order at 7:07pm.
Thanks to Bernardo Pena for the food and drinks at tonight’s meeting.
Roll call. All present with the exception for the distributor, sergeant- of- arms, mutual benefits rep and trustee, Tim Bonnett. (on routes)
Minutes from the November and December meetings…Motion to dispense with reading them and accept as written and passed out. Motion to accept minutes by Dominick Lignelli. Second by Burt Weisner. Motion carries.

Next union meeting is Wed. Feb. 7, 2007 at 7:00pm.
Next executive board meeting is Wed. Jan. 31, 2007 at 6:30pm.
Next Steward’s meeting is Wed. Jan. 10, 2007 at 6:30pm.

Management falsifying clockrings to artificially shorten our street times. (Month of December can’t be used for 1840-B’s.)
NALC bulletin dated 12/13/06. Read at meeting. Talked about outsourcing mail routes.

NBA new address and phone numbers effected 01/15/07. Moved to Suffolk, Va. Phone numbers are 757-934-1013 or 1014.
NALC bulletin dated 12/20/06. Read at meeting. Concerns Postal Reform bill. Food drive will be May 12, 2007. Rick Sullivan will be coordinator.
Make sure you complete a 3971 for FMLA requests.
Communication from branch 391 Central Maine Merged. Read at meeting. Talked about Bush destroying Habeas corpus.

Holiday Gala party sum-up.
Budget committee for 2007 will be 1) Dominick Lignelli 2) Bert Weisner 3) Amy Campain 4) Tom Preston 5) Ken Lerch. Meeting will be 01/24/07 at 6:30pm at the Union Office.
MDA money raised $722.00.

New business
Merger update. Sent to Bill Young on 12/30/06.
Motion for money spent on Holiday Gala Party? $2000.00 extra was spent on party. Motion to pay extra money by Mike Shawn. Second by Sergio Lemus. Motion carries unanimously.
MOU on National day of observance. Passed out at meeting. (page 170 of the National contract)
National Rap session Jan. 28, 2007. Discussed at meeting. No motion.
On 12/20/06, Kenneth Lerch was informed by Kathleen Nolan that Dept. of Labor is going to audit our branch. (Very in-depth audit)
1189’s for retirees. We now have 59 retirees.
Leave calendar progress in Rockville? All done but Potomac branch will ask for $10.00 a day as a remedy.
